Combine contact cleaning with a clear water path
Brush contact helps release material from the exterior while the sprays rinse the working area. The feed arrangement should expose fruit surfaces to that action without creating an overloaded bed or a short path through the machine.
Pineapple size, exterior texture and the presence of crowns affect the contact arrangement. Check the intended input with the selected brush geometry and transfers. Cleaning the surface is a different operation from removing peel or shaping fruit for the crusher.
Remove the dirt from the washing system
A useful water design accounts for what leaves the fruit. Include collection of coarse debris, access below the bed and a defined route for dirty water. Where recirculation is selected, the filtration and replacement arrangement must suit the incoming soil load.
The final rinse and any water-treatment procedure follow the plant hygiene requirements. Brush washing alone is not a validated microbial treatment, and water visibly reaching the fruit does not establish complete coverage of every surface.

Inspect the wet parts that do the work
The brushes and spray nozzles are working components. Their condition affects contact and coverage, so inspection and replacement space belong in the installed layout. Provide access to wet-area supports and corners where fibre or peel can accumulate.
Evaluate the washer as part of preparation with representative fruit, not as an empty machine. The acceptance check should cover cleanliness, visible fruit damage, discharge behaviour and water carryover at the intended loading.
